Seven Segments of Pi Software Download
Download the "SSPi_Python.zip" file from the link below and follow the instructions to load the files onto your Raspberry Pi SD Card ready to start the Seven Segments of Pi Challenge. This zip file is suitable for all versions of Raspberry Pi.

(The original version of Seven Segments of Pi came with a pre-programmed SD Card. An image of this "SSPi SD Card" is still available to download from the link below. This version is however only suitable for the original Raspberry Pi Model A or B)

SSPi_Python.zip Download advantages:-

SSPi_Python.zip Download Instructions 

Raspberry Pi Version A or B
You will need an SD Card with NOOBS Version 1.3.2 or later running the Raspbian Operating System

Raspberry Pi Version A+ or B+
You will need an SD Card with NOOBS Version 1.3.8 or later running the Raspbian Operating System

Raspberry Pi Version 2
You will need an SD Card with NOOBS Version 1.3.12 or later running the Raspbian Operating System

If you Raspberry Pi is connected to the internet
- Boot the Raspberry Pi and open a Web Browser e.g. Midori
- Browse to www.SevenSegmentsOfPi.com
- Click on the "SSPi Download" link
- Right click on the "SSPi_Python.zip Download" link
- Save the "SSPi_Python_V1_0.zip" file to directory /home/pi
- Open File Manager in directory /home/pi
- Right Click on "SSPi_Python_V1_0.zip" and select "Extract here"
This should create 3 directories with the files for PiDice, PiStopWatch and FigureEightMyPi

If your Raspberry Pi is not connected to the internet
- On a PC Browse to www.SevenSegmentsOfPi.com
- Click on the "SSPi Download" link
- Right click on the "SSPi_Python.zip Download" button
- Save the "SSPi_Python_V1_0.zip" file
to a USB Memory Stick
- Follow the instructions on Page 31 of the Seven Segments of Pi Manual to copy the "SSPi_Python_V1_0.zip" file from the USB Memory Stick into Raspberry Pi directory /home/pi
- Right Click on "SSPi_Python_V1_0.zip" and select "Extract here"
This should create 3 directories with the files for PiDice, PiStopWatch and FigureEightMyPi

SSPi SD Card Download Instructions (Raspberry Pi Model A or B only)

The SSPi SD Card Image download is similar to downloading the ‘normal’ NOOBS zip file. These instructions assume familiarity with downloading and programming a ‘normal’ NOOBS SD Card. The instructions also assume it is being downloaded and programmed from a Windows PC.

You will require an SD Card of 4GBytes or larger
Samsung or SanDisk Class 6 SD Cards are recommended but other SD Cards should work OK

WARNING! All files on your SD Card will be overwritten!

Right click
on the "Download" button below and save the Zip file
(the download is ~500MBytes took so may take some time!)
Unzip the files on your PC
Copy the unzipped files onto the Windows readable partition of your SD Card overwriting any existing files.
Plug the SD Card into your Raspberry Pi
Power On and follow the instruction given in the kit to load the "Raspbian+SSPi" Image.
